The lighting function of the mirror is very easy to operate, and the anti-fog feature works well, which is a real bonus.Arrival and packaging: The shipping box arrived with significant damage, although the snug inter protection packing ensured the mirror arrived in good condition.Installation: The screws that were packaged with the mirror did not fit into the mounting holes, either needed smaller screw heads, or do as I did, and drill the openings wider. This is a BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL MIRROR. It has a high and low bright white light and a soft warm “yellow” light. The light and defogger are controlled by touch areas on the glass. The areas on the mirror that show where to touch the glass are just stickers, so they can be easily removed.This mirror truly does stay clear during a hot shower. As I cannot take hot showers due to medical reasons, Hubby got to test that function for me. He certifies that there was no fogging to the mirror. There is a heating element in the center of the mirror, you can feel the warmth when it is turned on. We are working on gradually remodeling the guest bathroom to make it wheel chair accessible, as living with Multiple Sclerosis, there are times during a flare, that I have to use my wheel chair and the lighting from the higher light fixtures won’t help much. This mirror can easily be lowered when I put in the new sink structure. This mirror is pretty easy to install, other than it being very heavy (27.5 pounds is way out of my capability). Again, this was a Hubby task, as I cannot safely lift this beauty. Honestly, that would be my only “Con” about this item is that it doesn’t come with mounting brackets of any type. This is why I deducted one star. There are no metal brackets of any type that hold the mirror onto the mounting screws. There are two holes in ¼ inch medium density fiberboard (MDF), which is the backing to this light. It did come with two high quality screws and wall anchors, but the holes pre-drilled in the fiber board were not large enough for the screw heads, so my husband had to drill them out a bit. This is truly a Luxury item. It is contemporary and classy looking, as well as functional. The soft light is great to take a relaxing bath and read a book. If you are looking for a high end addition to your bathroom or vanity area, I would definitely recommend this mirror. The lighting is great to do your make-up or get those pesky stray hairs. I saw this one, and decided to give it a try. Even though it's designed more for bathrooms, it works really well in the space.UNPACKINGThis arrived safely packed in a large, flat box. Inside, the mirror is well-protected with cardboard and Styrofoam. For environmental and disposal reasons, I'm always hoping to see manufacturers use less foam in their packaging, or at least use the kind that can be broken down and discarded easily. The kind used for this mirror breaks apart well, but produces a fair amount of foam bits to clean up. I had the mirror out and ready to install in about 7 minutes.INSTALLATIONThe back of the mirror has keyholes in specific locations. The holes are drilled to support two different ways of positioning the mirror -- either upright, or more horizontal.Unfortunately, the included screws are the wrong size for the keyholes. The keyholes either need to be drilled out to make them bigger, or you have to use smaller screws. Because of the weight of this mirror, I would not recommend smaller screws. But drilling out the keyholes is risky, as you need to make sure not to ruin the narrower portion of the slot. I opted to drill the keyhole bigger. I also decided to use bigger screws, and stronger anchors. This was not an easy process, but by drilling out the holes carefully, I was able to do it.Once I had the new screws in the wall, the mirror mounted securely. But the manufacturer should fix the screw-size issue.APPEARANCEThe mirror looks great. With the lights off, the mirror just has a series of squares around the perimeter. When the mirror is on, these squares light up. The light from the mirror is enough to actually illuminate a space pretty well.Note that when the mirror is off, there are two ringed buttons that stay illuminated all the time.USAGEThere are two "buttons" on the surface of the mirror, which are smooth with the glass. You only know they are buttons because they are illuminated. The buttons are very responsive. Pressing the power button multiple times transitions the mirror through various lighting modes. The second button is a "de-fogging" control. Since I'm using this in a living space, not a bathroom, I cannot vouch for the de-fogging.CONCLUSIONThis is a very attractive mirror, with a cool appearance. The lighting options are quite nice. Just make note of the installation challenges. I recommend it.
